Dry Fish Chutney, HB

River fish is consumed widely across the NorthEast and a lot of the local fish is also dried for preservation. As a result, many of the fish recipes have dry fish as an ingredient and the popular dishes are chutneys made of dry fish. This packet of ready-made dry fish chutney has tiny, local freshwater fish, dried whole. The crunchy texture of the dried fish is complemented with dry spices. The chutney packs such a wallop, such an explosion of flavours in your mouth, that you could eat up a whole plate of rice with nothing else! The chutney can be eaten right off the packet as a snack.
